My objective was to create a kinetic typography motion graphic video using Glass Animals’ “Space Ghost Coast to Coast” from the beginning of the song up to the first chorus. This would provide an opportunity for me to showcase my preferred skill of typography motion graphic styling, which I aim to develop further for future projects.
PROJECT GOAL
The aim of this project is to demonstrate my ability to translate the message, theme, and aesthetic of an audio-centric medium, such as music, into a visually captivating motion graphic video. I plan to achieve this by creating a video that is visually appealing and captures the essence of Glass Animals’ “Space Ghost Coast to Coast” up until the first chorus.
CREATIVE PROCESS
The journey begins with selecting a company for the project. This step involves identifying a brand that sparks personal interest and curiosity, such as Cineplex in this case. Next, I dived into the world of visual storytelling by gathering a collection of stock footage. This raw material serves as the canvas upon which our MOGRT assets will come to life, representing the essence of the chosen company.
With the stock footage in hand, it's time to translate ideas into motion graphics. I developed MOGRT (Motion Graphics Templates) files that encapsulate the brand's identity and message, ensuring seamless integration with the chosen company's image.
Next, I stepped into the editing room where the magic happens. I skillfully piece together the video, strategically incorporating our MOGRT assets to enhance the storytelling. This phase is all about creating a cohesive and captivating narrative. Finally I add music that fit my final video, tweaking the sound volume and fade in/out to match the flow of my video.
