CLIENT: Study Project
FOCUS: Motion Design
SOFTWARE: Illustrator | After Effects | Ibis Paint
OVERVIEW: This project involved creating three short advertisement campaigns for a brand called "Catpurrccino Cat Café" as a part of the Emerging Multimedia Practice course. I decided to revisit and expand on this brand identity, which was initially developed for a previous project. The focus was on motion graphic design, with an emphasis on storytelling and advertising. The process involved brainstorming, ideation meetings, and peer feedback to refine design ideas over the course of a semester.

OVERVIEW: This project aimed to explore motion graphic design with a focus on music, specifically through creating a 30-40 second video for Glass Animals' song "Space Ghost Coast To Coast".
Developed over 9 weeks for the Emerging Multimedia Practice 2 course, the project involved ideation meetings, peer feedback, and experimentation within Adobe After Effects. The goal was to capture the abstract, colorful, and textured nature of Glass Animals' music while testing typography styling skills through kinetic typography.

FOCUS: Video Editing | Brand Marketing
SOFTWARE: Illustrator | After Effects | Premier Pro
OVERVIEW: The main goal of this project was to develop MOGRT assets that align with Cineplex's branding, emphasizing improvements in video editing, music selection, and transition animation. Alongside this, I delved deeper into Cineplex's portfolio, enhancing my skills in storyboarding and brand research. Through this process, I aimed to grasp a comprehensive understanding of how elements like colors, shapes, and brand tone synergize to form a cohesive brand identity within motion graphic design and video editing.
I'm Khalesha Ali, a passionate Multimedia Designer based in Toronto, currently studying at Humber College to refine my skills in motion graphics, web design, branding, and more. My aim is to craft designs that not only captivate visually but also tell meaningful stories, leaving a lasting impression. Effective design, in my view, is a potent tool for connecting with audiences and achieving business objectives, be it shaping a resonant brand identity, creating user-friendly websites, or producing striking motion graphics. When I'm not immersed in design, I'm often exploring nature, engaging in digital art, interacting with my rollerskating community, collecting as much pokémon related merch/games as I can, and seeking inspiration from music and the dynamic urban culture around me.
